The Importance of National Parks
This is Ashley’s response to a scholarship video about the national parks in the United States and the benefits they provide. Here, she discusses the importance of our national parks, primarily the historical benefits. She wrote the script, did the video, and did the reporting. This was Ashley’s first video of its kind.

This video talks about Juan Pablo Ruiz, an MFA student at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, who won the Stanek Gallery Award. Ashley was the reporter, editor, and photographer. Anh Nguyen, Quiana Butcher, and Matthew Fleming also contributed pictures and editing.

Ashley on Musician Keith Harkin’s Impact on Her Life
This is Ashley’s winning Keith Harkin Challenge video from Indi. This video won first place after generating the most buzz through social media likes, comments, and shares, as well as views. Ashley discusses seeing Keith Harkin perform with Celtic Thunder on TV and how that has since impacted her life with learning about her heritage and gaining leadership skills.
A Queen Fan’s Journey
Ashley produced, narrated, photographed, and narrated this video about herself and something that means a lot to her. It tells the little-known story of how her love of Queen has grown over the years and how the band has impacted her. The story goes from how she first fell in love with the band to what she is doing to help the charity that was started in Freddie Mercury’s honor.
What Grinds My Gears: Sidewalk Riders
Temple University is located in Philadelphia. Because of its urban atmosphere, Temple offers many ways to get to class. Biking and skateboarding are very popular, especially with the rise of a biking service on campus. The problem that arises is that bikers and skateboards use sidewalks as they are on their “vehicle,” nearly hitting pedestrians on crowded walkways.
Word Association: Hamilton Mixtape
Lin Manuel-Miranda, the creator of the hit musical Hamilton, announced the release of two Hamilton mixtapes. I asked people on Temple University’s main campus what came to mind when they heard words associated with the musical.

Ashley created the slides used in this video using PowerPoint and took some of the photos featured on the slides. She recorded the music from her keyboard and edited everything together into a video.
